Market Research - Mobile Wheeled Cranes

The Market Research and Analysis Department of the Industrial Cooperation Division of the Ministry of Defence of the Czech Republic (MOD) is about to start a market research for planning and budgetary purposes for future acquisition of three categories of mobile wheeled cranes which will be used to lift and transport ISO containers, large vehicles and aircraft, etc. New cranes should gradually replace currently used AD-20, AD-28 and AD-30 vehicles in the years 2022-2027, and they should newly enable lifting and transport of heavier objects.

The first category are mobile cranes on a wheeled chassis with a load capacity of 20 tons on the basic length of the boom. The vehicle should be equipped with a three-seat cabin without ballistic protection. The MOD is considering the acquisition of approximately 20 cranes in this category.

The second category are mobile cranes on a wheeled chassis with a load capacity of at least 30 tons on the basic length of the boom. The vehicle should be equipped with at least a two-seat cabin without ballistic protection and should allow all-wheel steering and crab regimes. The MOD is considering the acquisition of approximately 16 cranes in this category.

The third category are heavy mobile cranes on a wheeled chassis with a load capacity of minimum 50 tons on the basic length of the boom. The vehicle should allow all-wheel steering, manual steering and crab regimes. It must be also possible to operate the crane from the cab of the vehicle or by remote control outside the vehicle. The vehicle should be equipped with a three-seat cabin with ballistic protection. The MOD is considering the acquisition of 2-6 of these cranes.

The maximum height of all categories of mobile wheeled cranes in the transport position must allow to pass under bridges with a ground clearance of 3.7 m.

For all categories of mobile wheeled cranes, handling frames for large loads, radio and other special equipment, as well as operator training, supply of spare parts, documentation and design of vehicle life cycle procedures and costs will be required.

Official requests to manufacturers and suppliers through the Request for Information, which will include more detailed technical requirements, will take place in the first half of October 2020.
