Market Research to the “Monocular Night-Vision Device for Individual Soldier” was completed

On July 30, 2020, the Market Research and Analysis Department of the Industrial Cooperation Division of the Ministry of Defence of the Czech Republic completed the market research to the “Monocular Night Vision Device” project. New night vision devices should gradually complement and partially replace currently used MUM-14 devices.

A total of 9 manufacturers and suppliers (from which 3 are from the Czech Republic) actively collaborated in this market research. All manufacturers and suppliers were addressed through the RFI (Request for Information) and were requested to submit information about their product, including rough estimate of life cycle costs, spare parts supply and service (maintenance of devices by nitrogen purging). Due to coronavirus pandemic, deadline for the responses to the RFI was extended to ensure receiving of all the necessary information.

Information and data obtained in the market research were processed into a comprehensive document, which was submitted to the user (the Czech Armed Forces). This document serves as a basis for planning and budgetary purposes and for future decision-making of top management of the Ministry of Defence of the Czech Republic.
